Harriet is the Founder & Principal of an innovative firm with a focus on client service, dedication and excellence.

Harriet has significant experience interacting with clients at senior management and board level as well as managing and controlling charities, construction, start-ups, and litigation areas of Law. Harriet has worked on and supervised a wide range of corporate law matters including general corporate and commercial advice.

Harriet Warlow-Shill is founder and managing Partner of Warlows Legal. Law runs in Harriet’s family line with her sister, father, grandfather and great grandfather all practising lawyers and great aunt Edith Picton-Turbervill one of the first females to sit in the House of Commons.

Harriet grew up in Western Australia, where her grandfather was one of the first lawyers for the Aboriginal Legal Service in Western Australia. Graduating with a Law/Arts degree from the University of Western Australia, Harriet applied her learning in the challenging legal contexts of Native Title, Refugee and Aboriginal rights. Harriet is passionate about recognising the culture of Aboriginal People, Indigenous rights and access to justice for all, co-founding the Law Student Volunteer Service and providing pro bono law clerk services for the Aboriginal Legal Service of WA. As she grew her family, Harriet discovered she was passionate about the law and has worked hard to bring about a balance between the two worlds. Harriet has particular interest in the construction, start-ups and charities areas.

Legal experience

Harriet has acted for developers, government, major mining companies and builders across three states: WA, NSW and Victoria. Harriet has been involved in many reported decisions involving the Security of Payments legislative regimes across New South Wales, ACT and Victoria. Harriet has also acted for the Receivers and Managers of a major Nickel mine achieving settlements for defective construction works.

Harriet regularly presents on topics of her expertise and has lectured in litigation procedure and professional ethics at the University of Western Australia and the University of New South Wales.

Harriet favours an open and agile approach to client service and legal excellence. Harriet currently sits on the Human Rights Committee and the Building and Construction Working Group of the Law Institute of Victoria, serves as Co-Chair of Chabad Institutions of Victoria Limited, Vice Chair of Australian Friends of Ariel University. She also volunteers at various organisations including Jewish House and in her local community.
